Privacy policy

Privacy policy

The protection of personal data is important to the Higher Education Management (HEM) association. The following information contains legally relevant provisions which you acknowledge by accessing the website of the HEM Association.

Scope

HEM complies with the applicable provisions of Swiss data protection legislation. This data protection declaration applies to all HEM websites. For third-party websites to which the HEM websites refer and link, no guarantee is given for compliance with the data protection provisions.

Access data

When calling up the HEM websites, access data such as IP address, date and time, browser request as well as generally transmitted information on the operating system and browser etc. are recorded and stored in server log files. This access data is collected anonymously and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person. We use the access data to ensure the functionality of our websites and, if necessary, for statistical purposes. The server log files are stored by us until automated deletion, at the latest after twelve months.

Cookies

In order to enable the website to function correctly and to measure the effectiveness of web search queries, cookies are used on the HEM websites. Some of the cookies we use are automatically deleted again when the browser is closed, while others remain on the user’s respective end device and enable your browser to be recognized the next time you visit. In your browser, you can deactivate cookies in full or in part at any time in the settings. However, deactivation may limit the functionality of our HEM websites.

Input forms and e-mail

The HEM websites contain various input forms with which you can voluntarily provide us with personal data. The same applies if, as an alternative to the input form, personal data is transmitted to the e-mail address provided for this purpose on the respective HEM website. Which personal data is collected can be seen from the respective input forms. They are used for contacting HEM or for registering for HEM offers. The personal data voluntarily provided to us will not be passed on outside HEM or made accessible to third parties.

When using the input forms, a secure connection with TLS encryption is automatically used. The TLS encryption ensures that the data transmitted online cannot be read by third parties. Data sent to us by e-mail, on the other hand, is usually transmitted unencrypted and can possibly be viewed and changed by third parties. The transmission of confidential or personal data by e-mail is therefore at your own risk.

Operation of the web solution by third parties (hosting)

HEM has commissioned hostfactory.ch, a label of OptimaNet Schweiz AG based at Stationsstrasse 56, 8472 Seuzach, with the provision and technical support of our platform (web server operation, hosting). Insofar as data is transferred, stored and processed, this is done in accordance with the instructions of the platform operator and within the framework of order processing in accordance with the DSG/EU-DSGVO. The servers used for operation are located in Switzerland.

Processor

The contractual relationship with the processor is regulated by means of written contracts and the data protection provisions shown here have been transferred to this processor. The measures for the protection of your data by OptimaNet Schweiz AG are regularly controlled by us. A transfer of this data to third parties by the processor has been contractually excluded.
